After a 28 month construction programme, the Jewish Care Centre in Golders Green opened and in July 2011 it was unveiled by the London Mayor, Boris Johnson. The construction was on time and budget with a project cost of £40m.
The five storey 15 000m² building provides a wide range of facilities for its residents and the local Jewish Community.
As well as serving as the head office for the Jewish Care Charity, the building includes 45 extra care apartments for the elderly, a day care centre, respite facilities and a dementia wing. The building is situated around a landscape garden, which is built over substantial car parking facilities in the basement. Priority use of the facilities is given to holocaust survivors and refugees.
